ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System provides guidance on how to manage the environmental aspects of the business activities more effectively, while taking into consideration environmental protection, pollution prevention and socio-economic needs. These include the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption. Compliance with ISO 14001:2015 can also provide the company with a better use of energy and resources, and reduce costs over time.
The focus of the EMS is to control all direct or indirect aspects the organization has, or could potentially have, on the environment; for example, emissions to air, land or water. The organization should implement improvement programs, which may lead to financial benefits.
